Jonas is working as an associate professor at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics (University of Southern Denmark - SDU). He has a background in sports science but has since the completion of his PhD (2011) transformed into a clinical researcher. His research interests are in prevention and treatment of muscle and joint diseases in general, but with a strong focus on knee pain, knee injuries and osteoarthritis, in particular. His main research has focused on identifying the correct treatment for patients with meniscal injuries and investigating why these patients have an accelerated onset of knee osteoarthritis.
