BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE

Scapular dyskinesis, altered movement or position of the scapular, is often proposed as a cause of shoulder pain. This study set out to look at two things - firstly if there was a difference in the prevalence of scapular dyskinesis between people with and without shoulder pain, and secondly if knowledge of the presence of pain (no blinding) has an effect on the rating of scapular dyskinesis using the scapular dyskinesis test (SDT).
